Tonight is our last night in the apartment. I have lived in this apartment since january of 2005...On Grand ave since 2003. I know thats a short period of time in the larger grand scheme of things...but things have changed more than i ever thought they would.
I have been in new york since the fall of 2001 and in my time here I never thought i would make it almost a decade, find the love of my life in an obnoxious native new yorker, and be celebrating all of this with a year around the world.
As I sit in my empty apartment that has nothing but a bed and a boom box in it, i am a little sad...but more than sad and remembering the past, I am looking forward.
This time right now, feels very much like when i first moved to new york...I have no idea where this adventure is going to take us, and i can't wait to see what happens.

i can't believe how fast time is flying!
yesterday Alex had a relatively serious bike accident on the way home from dinner in williamsburg. He ended up with a pretty deep hole in his left arm that required a 4 hour trip to the ER and stitches. so between my jacked up finger, and his hole we seem to be in pretty good shape.
The packing continues, we are know living in a war zone...
I am continuing to try and finish work, i feel slightly paralyzed by the impending doom of not getting everything finished. But i am doing my best to press on and DO IT!
it's late and we had a long long night yesterday. So i am off to bed.

the horror the horror
so just when you think you have everything you need for a year on the road, you go to campmor and buy more crap so you take that crap home and then and try and fit it into a already over stuffed bag
tent check, sleeping bag check, two shirts , two shoes, no service
it appears that i had been a bit overzealous over the last eight months as ive prepped for this adventure as i find i now have four of those wide brimmed travel hats that look absolutely hideous and never end up getting worn
this minor rant doesnt even come close to how stupid this whole process really is. we're pretending to pack as if we wont be close to a store at any point
well it time to go empty the bag and repack for another time

Well....2 days! i remember back when we first started planning this, and i told Alex one thing at a time can we please first get through the wedding before you start planning this crazy trip.
that feels like so long ago.
So much to do! so little time!
Packing has begun, although slowly. Craigslist add posted. Recital photos on their way out the door...Now if someone would just take this white cat i would be set!
